My favourite books of 2021!

Image
So, most of my content is book reviews, that’s just because I happened to want a place to put my thoughts on what I read, that’s this blog. But very rarely I do branch out into other book related content. Although that’s extra emphasis on very rarely. I think for the 40-odd posts on here, maybe four or five might not be reviews. Also, if you want the video version of this post (CLICK HERE) Anyway, this is my top books of 2021. Now, I did one of these posts last year, and my criteria is the same: It just had to be a book I read in 2021, not specifically something that was released this year. I guess this is technically my top books I read in 2021, as opposed to just books of the year. Still, as one final point before I talk about the books themselves, I’ve got five for this list, and the order they’re coming in is simply the order that I read them in, not like a countdown or anything. What I’m aiming for is pretty much just a one paragraph review/overview of each book and what it was th...

Well it's over (Half Lost review)

Well, I’m onto the final book of the Half… trilogy by Sally Green. This one is Half Lost . As a very quick recap on my thoughts of the last two books. Half Bad was lukewarm at best, Half Wild was much better, and the ending of it was, I would say, a complete slay. So, before I started this final book, I did hope that this book would keep up with the slayification that the end of the second book did, and this post will talk about whether it in fact did or not. And also, I may include spoilers for the other two books in this post. If you want the video version of this (CLICK HERE) But first, our blurb. It starts off by saying that Nathan Byrn is still on the run. White witch hunters are on the offensive and no black witch is safe. Nathan is more powerful than ever, but on the brink of losing his mind. To defend the alliance, he must become its ultimate weapon. And to save a society that hates him, he must risk losing all that he loves. Now, from the end of the second book, I alrea...

May the Best Man Win (but my brain won't think up a clever title)

Hello, and welcome to today’s episode of me talking about a book that’s been sat on my wish list for ages. The book in question is May the Best Man Win by ZR Ellor. Like, I’ll fully use the Amazon recommendations as my way of browsing books, and then I’ll add them to a wish list until I eventually buy them from somewhere. And that’s what happened with this book. Firstly, this book doesn’t mention it, but there are acts of transphobia in this book. Nothing physical, it’s all in words, but I just wanted to mention it now, in case that’s something that might put someone off a book. Also, if you want the video version of this post (CLICK HERE) Our good old Blurbianca Del Rio says that Jeremy Harkiss, cheer captain and student body president, won’t let his coming out as a transgender boy ruin his senior year. Instead of bowing out to the bigots and outdated administration, Jeremy decides to make some noise. And his way of doing that is to challenge his all-star ex-boyfriend, Lukas Rivers, f...
