I finished the Dragon Age trilogy by reading Dragon Age: Asunder

We made it everyone. We’re here for the last of the Dragon Age trilogy by David Gaider. This time around it’s Dragon Age: Asunder . The blurb says that in the majestic White Spire, at the heart of templar power in Val Royeaux, tensions have reached the boiling point. The seekers, a powerful and secret segment of the templars, arrive to take command and restore order no matter the cost. To make matters worse, a mystical killer stalks the White Spire’s halls, invisible to all save one lone mage. As Rhys is the only one who can see the killer, he is drafted into an expedition traveling deep into the western wastelands of Orlais. There, his fate will become entwined with that of a beautiful templar, a tormented soul, and Wynne – heroine of the Blight. Together they will uncover a secret far greater than they imagined. One that will change the fate of mages in Thedas forever. First of all, huge fan that this is, once again, another book in this trilogy that’s seemingly unrelated t...

I didn't want to think, so I read Pole Position

So today I’m talking about Pole Position by Rebecca J. Caffery. I picked this one up from Gay’s the Word as well, and it was one that I’d just seen sat on the shelves for ages. Its cover is one of those where you can tell it’s just straight up romance and there’s not really anything else going on, and to be honest? That’s exactly why I read it – I was just in the mood for straight up romance after a couple of Dragon Age books. The blurb says that Kian Walker has always been the golden boy of motorsport. The four-time Championship winner has racing in his DNA – his father was a legend on the track, just don’t let him catch you comparing the two. As reckless and unreliable at home as he was behind the wheel, there’s nothing Kian wants less than to be just like his dad. Enter Harper Jones. This year’s rookie called up to compete with the big boys – and Kian’s new teammate. Cocky, hot-headed and with a reputation for breaking as many hearts as he does track records, Harper’s the opposit...

Dragon Age: The Calling - Good book, bad trope

Well, we’ve made it (gender-neutral) girls. We’re onto the second book of the Dragon Age trilogy I’ve had since I was probably about eighteen or nineteen. This next one is Dragon Age: The Calling , and since it’s a trilogy, shockingly, it’s also by David Gaider. Our best friend, the blurb, says that after two hundred years of exile, King Maric has allowed the legendary Grey Wardens to finally return to Ferelden. But they bring with them dire news: one of their own has escaped into the Deep Roads and aligned himself with their ancient enemy, the monstrous darkspawn. The Grey Wardens need Maric’s help and he reluctantly agrees to lead them into the passages he travelled through many years before, chasing after a deadly secret that threatens to destroy not only the Grey Wardens but also the kingdom above. The book opens on best friend Duncan, who’s sat waiting for an audience with King Maric with this mage diva, Fiona. Duncan is going to go ahead and actually be one of the Grey W...
