The new Aristotle and Dante book is literally just a Sims expansion pack

This might be the book I’ve been looking forward to the most. It was one of those I’ve been waiting around for, and maybe I forgot when it was going to be released, so when I saw that it had come out, maybe I was surprised, but who can say? But either way, it’s Aristotle and Dante Dive into the Waters of the World by Benjamin Alire Saenz, the sequel to Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. As such, this post might contain minor spoilers for the first book. The “Hey, Miss Blurb” says that Ari’s spent his life hiding who he really is, staying invisible. But when he fell in love with Dante last summer he can no longer go back. Together, the two of them are determined to make themselves seen and heard, but a shocking loss for Ari means he’ll have to fight like never before to create a life that is truthfully and joyfully his own. So, this told me that Ari was basically going to try and come out of his shell, but this “loss” was going to be a major obstacle in d...

The Black Flamingo by Dean Atta takes flight!

Originally, this post was meant to be the first book in a fantasy trilogy. The post is all written and ready to go, but I have the most basic aesthetic that I’m currently trying to follow on my Instagram and if I posted the fantasy book, I wouldn’t be able to have the whole trilogy on the same background like I want, so I’ve decided to put it off for a couple of posts, and the first book that has moved up the line is The Black Flamingo by Dean Atta. This has been one of those books that I’d always look at in shops and think that the cover was pretty, but never picked up, and I finally got it after finding an old gift card to a bookshop. Also, if you want the video version of this post (CLICK HERE) The old Blurbman Munster says that “This is not about being ready, it’s not even about being fierce, or fearless, it’s about being free.” It then goes on to say that Michael waits in the stage wings wearing a pink wig, pink fluffy coat and black heels, and that one more step will see h...

My thoughts on The Past and Other Things That Should Stay Buried

Image
I am once again on my anti hardback agenda. Yes, they look pretty, but they’re so unnecessarily chunky, and I bring it up because my copy of The Past and Other Things That Should Stay Buried by Shaun David Hutchinson is indeed a hardback. I’ve read We Are the Ants by Hutchinson before, and I vaguely remember enjoying it, so I didn’t see why I wouldn’t enjoy this one too. Also, if you want the video version of this post (CLICK HERE) So, the old Clever Blurb Pun That I Didn’t Think Of told me that Dino doesn’t mind spending time with the dead since his parents own a funeral home. He is, however, not used to them talking back. His ex-best friend, July, dies and comes back to life. But then it says that July isn’t quite dead or alive. Then, they have to figure out what’s happening and why their friendship ended so badly. And finally, the last bit is just about understanding themselves, each other and life. From that, it gave me that, in a way, this was going to be a coming...
